Jermaine Marshall

The Reverend Jermaine J. Marshall is the Senior Pastor of Mount Olive Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church in Orlando, Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in Religious Studies, History, and Public Administration from the University of North Florida. He earned his Master of Divinity with a concentration in Church History from Phillips School of Theology at the Interdenominational Theological Center. He earned his Master of Theology with a concentration in Historical Theology from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.

Jermaine’s teaching and research interests include Historical Theology, Church History, American Religious Tradition, African American Religious Tradition and American Religion and Politics. His master’s thesis project at Candler was titled, “A Study of African Retentions through an Examination of Slave Religion and the Development of African American Christianity”. His academic affiliations include membership in the American Academy of Religion, American Society of Church History, Theta Phi (National Honor Society for Theological Studies) and Pi Sigma Alpha (National Political Science Honor Society). While in seminary at ITC and during his graduate studies at Candler, Jermaine served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Theology, Ethics, and History at the Interdenominational Theological Center for the following courses: Church History I, Church History II, and African American Church History.

Jermaine is an Ordained Traveling Elder in the CME Church. He is in Full Connection and currently holds membership in the Florida Region of the CME Church. Prior to his appointment to Mount Olive CME, Jermaine served as the Senior Pastor of the Murray Temple CME Church in Anniston, Alabama. He and his wife Natalie currently reside in Orlando, Florida where they serve together in ministry.
