Ordained as a pastor in 1995, Lee has served as a campus minister and pastor in Virginia, a Director of Church Relations at a St. Andrews Presbyterian College in North Carolina, and since 2005, as the Coordinator for Theological Education and Seminary Relations and lead staff person for the Committee on Theological Education (COTE) for the General Assembly Mission Council of the Presbyterian Church (USA). He is a graduate of Wake Forest University (BA, History), Louisville Seminary (MDiv) and, most recently, McCormick Theological Seminary (DMin) where he focused on leadership in a multi-cultural world.
An is an affiliate member of the Association of Theological Schools and participant in their Theological Schools and the Church Project, Lee has frequented meetings of the American Academy of Religion, Society of Biblical Literature, as well as the Society of Christian Ethics. He now serves on the board of Church Visitors of Maryville College, Tennessee and has studied in Venice, Italy; Rushlikon, Switzerland; and most recently in Debrecen, Hungary which is known as the Calvinist Rome.
Lee is the author of numerous essays and articles as well as the blog: “A More Expansive View: Encounters with Presbyterians and our Seminaries.”
His wife, the Rev. Dr. Elizabeth L. Hinson-Hasty, serves as Associate Professor of Theology at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. Lee and Elizabeth are the parents of two children.
